Happy Easter!

What was Easter like for you? What was it like for the members of your family?

Different surely!

Good morning!

Reminder - if you haven't done so already - please enter your name in the "Comment" space - kindly do this each time you log into the blog post for the class - Thank you 🙏.
Once again, a reminder that when you are on social media (and this interaction is the use of social media for education), we are reminded that this is a public space and that we are called on to be our best selves - so kindly communicate appropriately at all times - in doing so you respecting yourself and all of us. Thank you!

So, I was asking you about Easter. How was it for you?

Did you get to read the passages of scripture on the last Thursday, Friday, and Sunday? Or did you listen to them as your families gathered in prayer?

How was it praying with your family on these very special days and not in your Church?

Did you miss the Church? Did you prefer praying at home? Did you prefer having some freedom to choose how you would like to pray / or mark these days?

Look back on your self and now that we are on the last day of the "Lockdown" can you name some more of your feelings?

Please write the feeling words in the last year's diary - we're using it as our temporary Catechism book!

How has it been - feeling wise - for you during the last 14 days - can you put more exact words to your feelings - try and not to generalize.

And remember, this is not about judging yourself - we leave that to God - it's only about how you feel.

What about those around you? How were they feeling? Could you recognize how they were feeling? Again, don't judge them - it's said that we never know why people do what they do - so don't judge - the most we can do is say - I like or don't like what you did! The action can be right and wrong - for the person that's different!

Now what about Jesus?

Can you do an imaginary interview with Jesus?
  • Think of Jesus at any time in the suffering or passion.
  • Imagine that you could stop time
  • Imagine yourself being able to talk to Jesus about what he's been going through
  • What questions would you ask Jesus - write them down - whenever you're going to interview someone famous - you need to give them a draft of the questions you're going to ask them!
  • Now ask Jesus those questions.
  • Listen to the answers - but more listen to the feelings you think Jesus had - list those feelings
  • What feelings do you have as you listen to answers you hear Jesus give you and you see him and the way he answers?
Let's end this lesson with listening to hymn - it's a hymn I particularly liked from the many hymns connected with my reflections on the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus of the last week. The hymn acknowledges that as we remember and reflect on Jesus suffering and the cause of that suffering and as we reflect on our present universal crisis, God invites us with all our feelings -  "the young and the old, the frightened - the bold, the greatest and the least" all come to God and God sits with us - a God who has gone through all the challenges of life - and listens to us and helps us through life  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sbNXbnO1Ig

As you start class X commit to taking on the friendship and help of God 🙏
