4th May XII Catechism

Good Morning and Welcome to our class today !
Technology - for some reason - there's a different version of "Blogger" onto my computer and I can't find the emogi's i've been using for the blogs each week !!!! So, sorry - hard luck - no smiling face or namaste sign today - but I most sincerely welcome you to the class and wish that you are all very well.

I believable that we have a really worthwhile bit of work to do together this week and I welcome you to doing it.

Let's start !

REVIEW  OF PREVIOUS WEEKS / OVERVIEW OF THE WEEK
Let's begin by reminding ourselves of what we have learnt and where we intend to go.

Over the last month we have been
  • practicing Heartfulness - self-awareness - naming our feelings - being aware of unnamed feelings held in our bodies - becoming aware f the feelings of others
  • Visioning our futures - Mindler - expected future events / possibilities - dreams / hopes - fears - The Divine Vision
  • Becoming more familiar with the stories of Jesus concerning his suffering, death and resurrection and continuing to find personal meaning for these beliefs - meaning which we will, hopefully, allow ourselves to experience / live
Over this week we shall be continuing to do this and we shall
  • taking forward our self-awareness to trying to be aware of our inner voice
  • taking forward over expectations for our future and considering the implications for the present
  • be focusing on the biblical stories of the Ascension and Pentecost (coming of the Holy Spirit)
  • setting up and learning certain processes to help us be more interactive
STEP 1 - please have your earphones with you unless you are in a room by yourself (preferably be in a room by yourself)
  • Please spend a few minuted doing the heartfulness awareness - please click onto the guided meditation                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_G42Z7-vZvw
  • Ask yourself
    • what were my thoughts and feelings as I woke up today ?
      • be with those feelings especially
        • own them - let yourself feel them
          • feelings in themselves are just what they are
          • there's no permissible or not permitted feeling
          • if I choose to act on my feelings - those actions may be permitted / not permitted / right / wrong - so I need to think having acknowledged and allowed myself to be me (feel)
    • what have been my experiences since I woke up - how has my day gone ahead ? How do I feel about that ?
    • How did I feel about logging onto the catechism class ?
    • Why did I continue to read the blog after entering my attendance ?
      • What feeling did I have ?
      • What thinking went on in my mind ?
      • What got made me to make that decision?
  • just stay with that - your feelings and thoughts for some time ..........
  • This is listening to you inner conversations with yourself !
  • We need practice in this - today and tomorrow - try and do this when you have some personal time
    • one of the best times to do this is just before you decide to go to sleep - when you have got into bed
  • before you end this section invite Jesus to know your feeling, thoughts,..... Jesus will say nothing ..... there's a difference between Jesus and the ego (sometimes we blame God for the harshness of our ego !).
STEP 2 - you'll need your A4 sheet, the sheet where you are drawing the river of your life -
  • think of yourself, this time, in 2021 - next year -
    • I hope that we have been able to pick up our lives to a fairly regular pattern
    • I hope that you would have been able to do your CBSE Board Examinations
    • You would be in the gap months before you consider the next phase of your life
      • will the next phase of your life be more education - where do you hope it will be ?
      • if you have other plans with / beside studies how will you hope to take them forward ? e.g. if some of you want to take your athletic abilities forward....
  • what would you have to put in place now or from now up to that time - May 2021 - to get where you hope to be
    • dream big (keeping the Mindler report and your interaction with the counselor) in mind
    • base your plans on real information
      • connect with Mr Sumit (Counselor) if you need some assistance
  • let Jesus into those dreams and plans
STEP 3 : you'll need a Bible or you'll need to use the internet on the device you're using for this class.
  • over the last few classes we were looking at and praying over the stories of the Resurrection of Jesus.
  • What is the difference between the Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus ?
    • did they happen at the same time ?
    • was there a gap of time ? If so, how much ? Why ?
    • Was the after ascension experience the disciples have of Jesus the same or different ?
    • If the after Ascension disciple's experience of Jesus was different - what differences were there ?
  • Those are some of the questions I invite you to think about as you open to read Mk 16 : 19, Lk 24 : 51; Acts 1 : 6-11
    • Please note that Mathew and John do not leave us any record of Jesus' Ascension.
  • Please think about these questions - and if you feel comfortable ask your parents / elders about them.

So, that's it !

As we end, let us continue to pray for ourselves - life has been requiring some challenges to everyone in the world - we also pray for others - pray for your parents who must be quite concerned over so many matters; pray for your siblings; pray for your grandparents. Pray esp[ecially for our leaders - they have very difficult decisions to make and people will criticize them no matter what decision they make and no decision will go totally correct -it's very difficult.  Do pray the "Our father" it's the best prayer !!!

Take care - all the best till we meet for the next class !

Emojis are not that important but if you still insist on using them there are similar alternatives , like " :) " or " ^_^ " . I am sure there are more , you can use these instead if you still have trouble using emojis .
